One-Gallon Santa Cruz Cypress #697

Santa Cruz Cypress, Hesperocyparis abramsiana, is a rare California native found naturally in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This species is known for its rich green foliage, strong aromatic scent, and vigorous upright growth. 

While still relatively uncommon in bonsai, Santa Cruz Cypress shows strong potential due to its resilience and natural tendency to develop interesting trunk movement over time. As it matures, the bark begins to gain subtle texture and character, adding to its long-term appeal as a bonsai subject.

Santa Cruz cypress are closely related to both Monterey Cypress and Mendocino Cypress, care and growth are nearly the same.
