Toyon (California Holly) Bonsai Starter

Toyon (Heteromeles arbutifolia) aka California Holly or Christmas Holly and the namesake for "Hollywood" is a California native plant that is largely unexplored in the bonsai world. Well adapted to dry climate, it has sprays of white flowers in early summer and grows orange/red berries in the fall.

Leaves are 1-3" in size.

We propagated these from seed collected in Napa county in 2022. They are in 3.5 nursery containers and 3-9" tall in their second year of growth.

The tree in the photo is representative but not the actual plant you will receive.
