Everybody wants it! Itoigawa is considered the best junipers for bonsai in Japan. Itoigawa is known for tight delicate foliage that creates heavenly clouds almost by itself.  The runners (strong central shoots) are used to make branches and trunks. Wood production is faster in hotter climates.  Less susceptible to spider mites than Kishu, and stays flexible longer. The color of the foliage is typically a bit lighter green than "Shimpaku" or "Kishu" varieties. Extra iron fertilization, or micro-nutrients can maintain a darker green color in the foliage.

These are in 3" nursery containers.  The tree shown is a typical example, trunk size is up to 1/8" (less than the size of a standard pencil) approximate height - 4-8" The photos are representative, and do not show the actual tree you will receive.

Happy little guys!

My Itoigawa juniper starters arrived quickly, well packaged, and healthy. I then replicated the soil mix that Eric recommended in one of his YouTube videos and slip potted them into bigger pots/bags where they’ll stay for at least the next couple of years. They seem to be extremely happy! I look forward to buying from Bonsaify again in the near future. Thanks again for all of your great content and providing such wonderful service!

Nice little tree

This is nice little tree. It is healthy and the perfect size to twist the trunk.

3 for 4, not bad

I have purchased 4 Itoigawa plants in the last 9 months. Three were as expected and nice. One was different and a little disappointing. Don’t get me wrong it was healthy but the root structure seemed much less developed than the others and the upper was less attractive. But it is a living organism and so you don’t always start with the best. It is what I can eventually do with it that counts.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for taking the time to review the materials. I hope the little one grows up for you! If you find it doesn't thrive like the others please do let us know so we can provide a replacement. As with any living thing - it can be a bit unpredictable.

Healthy, vigorous Itoigawa Juniper

My Juniper arrived in great health and vigor. Itoigawa Junipers are harder to find in the nursery trade and so I was pleased to see Bonsaify had it in stock and I ordered several. I will definitely order from Bonsaify again in the future!

Fantastic

I've made a couple orders so far and I'm terribly impressed. My kishu has some extra branches but he left that decision up to me which to keep our use for future cuttings. The itoigawa could use some writing but that's the fun part. He even packaged the stuff with a sticky heating pad for the travels across the colder states from Cali to Florida. I'll definitely be purchasing other species I've been curious about in the future. All love. Watch the YouTube channel guys.
