What is forest bathing?
Forest bathing, also known as shinrin-yoku, is a gentle practice of slowing down and engaging with nature through your senses. It is not a hike, workout, or traditional meditation class. It is an invitation to notice what is around you and spend restorative time among the trees.
What you’ll experience
• Gentle movement and a sensory-awareness mindfulness practice
• Invitations to explore the park and awaken your senses
• Quiet time to notice the sights, sounds, textures, and scents around you
• A closing cup of tea and time for reflection with fellow participants
No previous experience is necessary. Our pace will be slow and unhurried.
Meeting location
We will meet near the Blue Heron Boathouse at Blue Heron Lake in Golden Gate Park, 50 Blue Heron Lake Drive, San Francisco, CA 94118. Additional meeting instructions will be provided before the session.
What to bring
• Dress in warm layers. San Francisco fog can bring a chill, even on a pleasant morning.
• Camping pads for sitting will be available. If you prefer a chair, please bring a lightweight folding chair.
• Wear comfortable shoes suitable for spending time outdoors.

Amongst Trees is a new series of nature-based experiences from Bonsaify. These gatherings create opportunities to slow down, connect with the natural world, and experience trees beyond the boundaries of everyday life.
Weather and cancellation policy
This experience will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time are eligible for a refund or transfer. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session are nonrefundable.
