Arakawa Octagonal Ceramic Container
Created in a collaboration between Eric Schrader and Thomas Arakawa, these shallow dark-clay geometric containers are handmade with a lot of great details. The rim and upper outside walls show a hint of ash glazing, one of Thomas' signature techniques.
Thomas Arakawa was born and raised in Japan, and came to the United States at the age of 19. For Thomas, the process of making pottery is affirmation of his Japanese heritage and the American influences.
