Arakawa "Chawan" Tea-Cup Bonsai Containers
These 4" diameter "Chawan" are made in the style of a traditional tea bowl used in Japanese tea ceremonies, but with tie and drainage holes added to make them usable for bonsai. The interior is unglazed, while the base glaze on the exterior is matte-white with accents of color.
Interior Diameter - 3.5"-4" (each piece is slightly different.)
Interior Depth - about 2"
Thomas Arakawa was born and raised in Japan, and came to the United States at the age of 19. For Thomas, the process of making pottery is affirmation of his Japanese heritage and American influences.
