Japanese Black Pine Clump #05

This 3-tree planting is 4 years old from seed in a 6" growing container. To make good 2 and 3-tree plantings you want the base to be touching as young trees so we started these from seed as pairs and threes.  Now with elegant trunks that have been gently wired they are ready for further refinement. 

Japanese black pine are among the most prized of bonsai species, with rugged bark, beautiful dark green needles and a predictable and well-documented growth regimen.
