Scots Pine #613
Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) are one of the most common pines in Europe and Northern Asia. Grown from seed sourced from Northern Ireland, these pines have naturally short needles (1-2" in length) and grow vigorously. They are easy to train as young trees and simple to maintain as older trees. With better cold tolerance than Japanese black pine these are a good alternative for bonsai enthusiasts living in colder climates. This tree has been treated like a young bonsai - including wiring the trunk and root work - and it's ready for the next round of training.
