Shigeru Fukuda (Bushuan) Green/Blue Crackled Oval Bonsai Pot
This very special pot is from the semi-retired founder of the Fukuda Pottery studio in Japan; it came to us via a private collector, and is now available for you! Shigeru Fukuda (b. 1950) also known as Bushuan, is originally from the Saitama prefecture in Japan. He became fascinated by bonsai in his late 20s (after spending years as a competitive race car driver!) In 1986 he began creating his own bonsai pots. Shigeru is self-taught and obsessed with the creation of glazes and shapes. He loved how ceramics fired in climbing kilns ("noborigama") looked and worked to replicate those results with electric kilns. This Shigeru pot is from the 2000s.
