Owari was a province in Japan for more than 1200 years. The area was a major center for rice, cotton, sake, and ceramics. In 1871 it was combined with the Mikawa Province to form the Aichi Prefecture. Yaki means kiln/ware in Japanese. This antique bonsai pot is from the Owari Yaki, late 19th or early 20th century. It was previously part of a private collection; now available for you to enjoy!
