We were inspired by the Arakawa's black lava tea cups to make a bit larger version of the same feeling in a bonsai pot. These containers have a textured black glaze with bubbling irregular appearance reminiscent of a lava flow.
6" size: 5.75" x 3.75" interior x 1.75" deep (medium colored clay body)
7" Size: 7"x 5" interior x 1.75" deep. (black clay body)
Thomas Arakawa was born and raised in Japan, and came to the United States at the age of 19. For Thomas, the process of making pottery is affirmation of his Japanese heritage and American influences.
